born april 8, 1941 to a cotton weaver & a shoe maker, young vivien first made a modest living selling her jewellry at portebello rd. After a stint as a primary school teacher, she opened up shop in 1971, with malcolm mclaren, to start making & selling her own brand.
She dressed the sex pistols, designing the infamous bondage suit for mr. sid vicious. She revolutionised fashion with punk. She hates waste. Made the tartan industry profitable again. Year after year, from the 70's up until the present, she has constantly achieved innovation, suprise, & quality with her design.
More recently Vivien has become publicly concerned with the 'consumerist' ways of western society and actively speaks out against institutions like television & hollywood. She produced a Manifesto in 2007 following on from her 'propaganda' range, which speaks of the three evils of propaganda: *non-stop distraction

*organised lying
